Description
Explore the timeless art of surface embroidery in this unique course designed to instruct and inspire new or longtime students of fiber arts. On the first night of class, you will meet at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center and tour the Embroidery Guild Exhibit with guild member and instructor Carolyn Standing Webb. In the following classes you will create a sampler using 13 basic stitches of surface embroidery including: backstitch; stem stitch; satin stitch; and French knots. All the stitches learned can be used in future projects to embellish clothing or items for home décor. The supply list will be discussed on the first class meeting - located at the UCCC and running from 6:30-8:00 PM.
