Description
Have you ever been captivated by the raw and honest moments created by the StoryCorps radio program? Or wished that, when listening to tales told by elder family members, someone was there to write it all down? The power of the interview can be used to preserve the precious memories of those around you, or be used to sharpen skills for professional writing and business interactions. Under the guidance of award-winning author Eileen Hallet Stone, students will learn everything from how to create a bond with your interviewee and become an effective listener, to the technical aspects of recording interviews, legal issues, and avenues to share your Oral History project with the public. Please bring a tape or digital recorder with you to class.
