Description
This course is part of the cohort series for the MHA program. It is intended to introduce students to the nature and unique role of various healthcare organizations, including types of hospitals, practice management organizations, and ambulatory care practices, among others. Consideration of the essential role of electronic health information systems for healthcare organizations will be addressed. Taken early in the MHA program, this course helps students begin to explore venues for their careers. Guest speakers provide an inside look at the administrative challenges and opportunities in a variety of healthcare organizations. Readings focus on current management issues facing different types of healthcare organizations.
