Description
It's apple harvesting season and time to learn how this versatile fruit is turned into an adult beverage to be enjoyed year round. Class one, tour and taste at Mountain West Hard Cider - Salt Lake City's only artisanal hard cider brewery. Class two, meet at The Beer Nut and learn how to make your own. We'll cover selecting the right apples, techniques for crushing and pressing apples, how to make higher or lower alcohol versions, equipment, different types of cider, and what can go wrong in the process (you get apple cider vinegar instead). You'll leave with your own gallon of unfermented cider and fermentation equipment. Please be prepared for some manual labor in crushing and pressing apples. This class requires 48-hour advance registration. Section 002 is for 9/22 tour only.
