Prerequisites: NURS 6006, NURS 7028, NURS 7054, NURS 7641. Co-requisites: NURS 7050 and NURS 7460 AND Completion of ACLS.
Description
This is the second of five clinical courses in which students work with a preceptor in an acute health care setting. Students will continue to practice their skills in assessment, diagnoses, including differential diagnoses and medical decision making, laboratory and other diagnostic studies interpretations, development of a comprehensive plan of care, implementation and evaluation of prescribed treatments. The focus of this semester will be on pulmonary, surgical and cardiac patients. The Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) role within the context of local, state and national levels will also be reviewed.
