Description
This is a course on advanced analog design that builds on University of Utah’s ECE/CS 5720/6720. The class covers transistor-level operational transconductance amplifier design in depth, including considerations such as bandwidth, transient settling, noise, frequency compensation, and offset/mismatch. The course supplements amplifier design material with precision analog circuit techniques, active filter circuits, and data conversion circuits. Analysis and design techniques covered are based on design-oriented analysis and gm/ID methodology. Students perform simulation, design, and optimization using Cadence and Matlab.
