Description
Wellness is "an active process through which people become aware of, and make choices toward, a more successful existence." It "requires a constant balance and maintenance" of several components or domains throughout life: emotional, environmental, intellectual, occupational, physical, social, and spiritual. (Anspaugh DJ, Hamrick MH, Rosato FD; Wellness: Concepts and applications - 8th ed; 2011) Wellness is a complex concept of physical and emotional health that affects an individual's entire being. Well designed and maintained health programs can positively impact a population. However, it takes skilled leaders to influence others to develop and maintain lifestyle behaviors.
