Description
This four credit-hour course is designed to provide the student with a didactic preparation in the concepts of neonatal physiology and pathophysiology. Synthesis of topics in human embryology, genetics, and neonatal advanced physiology/pathophysiology I provides the foundation for understanding specific neonatal physiologic and pathophysiological processes using a systems-based approach. Normal physiology and common pathophysiological disease are presented to include the recommended comprehensive topics for national certification as a neonatal nurse practitioner.
