Description
This two-day (in class) simulation course is a fast-paced, highly-engaging learning experience that assists students in obtaining two breakthrough insights, both of them exploding previously-held myths. Myth #1. Leaders are born, not made. Participants formally compare what they do at work with the 5 Practices of Exemplary Leaders. This course shows students that they can practice, develop and improve leadership skills! Myth #2. A team is composed of a leaders and followers. Students will also learn that strong project teams are not made up of one leader and some number of followers. Superior teams are composed entirely of leaders! With these two myths deflated, the way is cleared for project managers to freely practice their developing skills in leading and working with teams, two of the most essential skills for success in managing projects. It is also registered with the Project Management Institute for 16 Professional Development units (PDU), which can be applied toward maintaining other related licenses and certification. This course incorporates the Project management Institute's Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge principles and is beneficial in preparation for the Project Management Professional certification.
