Description
This class is designed as a lecture and lab experience. Students will learn the foundational knowledge of the aging process, discuss health, the disease process and illness as they relate to the elderly population. Class discussion will include the influences of ageism, race, gender, ethnicity, and legislative policies. The role of recreational therapy as a health and human service provider and as a member of the end of the life support system will introduced.
