Description
This course presents an overview of the complex U.S. health care system and policies that influence the delivery of health care in the United States. Knowledge in the following areas is emphasizes: organization of health care systems, health delivery models, health care financing, how health policies are made, legislation impacting health care, and the role of individual and organizations in influencing health policy. Advanced nursing roles in current and emerging health care systems are discussed, along with an analysis of specific theoretical foundations. Opportunities to develop expertise and skill in health policy analysis, formation, and influence are provided.
