Description
This course is designed to give 3rd year dental students the opportunity to treat patients with Orthodontic needs. Students will treatment plan and coordinate the treatment of at least 1 Orthodontic patient. At the end of the 2nd year Pediatric/Orthodontic course, any students interested in the Advanced Course will meet with instructor to split up Chapters in the Contemporary Orthodontics textbook to study and present to each other. At the beginning of Fall semester, students will select a patient with Class 1 molar and Canine relationship with lower anterior malocclusion that must further be approved by the instructor. Students will meet with instructor to treatment plan their selected patient and practice placing brackets, bending arch wires, etc. At the end of the semester, the student will place brackets on a patient and begin Orthodontic Treatment under the supervision of instructor.
