Description
This course will prepare students to perform and document a comprehensive psychiatric assessment, case formulation and diagnosis. Key concepts include: 1) Learning and practicing interviewing techniques used to collect accurate and relevant data necessary to diagnose mental illness effectively, 2) Acquiring foundational knowledge of the current DSM diagnostic criteria for psychiatric disorders, 3) Organizing and documenting data in order to construct a comprehensive case formulation and beginning treatment plan.
