Description
The first of three on-campus intensive courses, this course introduces students to the professional role of the advanced practice psychiatric nurse practitioner in the context of the doctorate in nursing practice degree. Students will explore the rich history and development of advanced psychiatric nursing and the current licensing, accreditation, presents relevant nursing theories and core mental health concepts such as attachment, resilience, and recovery, which will thread throughout the educational program. Students will examine their own strengths, styles and personal characteristics, integrating self-awareness into their professional role development.
