Description
A light hearted examination of the poetry of the Emerald Isle, from the ancient bards to the street buskers of Dublin, with a good dose of Irish folklore and wit thrown in for good measure. This class will cut a broad swath through the history of Ireland as seen through the eyes of her most celebrated authors, dramatists and poets, including: Amergin, Thomas Moore, Charles Lever, Douglas Hyde, Oscar Wilde, William Butler Yeats, James Joyce and Seamus Heaney to name a few. This course is for anyone who is interested in Irish Poetry and History or those just wishing to have a good time.
