Description
An introductory epidemiology course which provides an overview of epidemiologic principles and the practical application to health and health care. Students will be introduced to the concepts of rates and risk as they pertain to clinical practice. Principles of descriptive and analytic epidemiology will be introduced, as will basic study design and application to health care. An overview of basic principles of biostatistics will be provided, and an introduction to casual inference will be covered.
