Description
Meets with ANTH 3151; additional work required of graduate students. Peoples of the Pacific covers the archaeological history of the Pacific including theories of settlement and the distinctive features of island cultures. In addition, the class will cover the social and political organization and stratification of the islands, and the mechanisms behind cultural change among today’s Pacific Islanders including migration, transnationalism, and colonial history.
