Description
In this seminar we bring together feminist approaches to the disciplines; Gender Studies interdisciplinary research; and, learning in the research methodologies that those fields of study provoke. Taking intersectionality as a line of inquiry that crosses many disciplines, we will consider the development and dispersal of theories across disciplines. We will begin by exploring the foundations of intersectionality by tracing its genealogical roots; and, will continue to map its travel across disciplinary locations noting the transformations it undergoes in that process. Throughout the course, we will explore definitions of what constitutes ?useful? models of intersectionality research. We will seek emerging scholarship that represents the most innovative strategies, methods and frameworks for grappling with the complexities of intersectionality.
