Description
Review the first photographic movements and masters of the genre, Pictorialism vs. Modernism (1885-1920 and 1900-1965). Members will learn and discuss telling a visual story -- what is the story, how one plans to tell it, and how to illustrate a specific point. We will discuss street photography and the "snap shot aesthetic" as well as worrisome photographers and how to avoid detection. We will explore the motivations that drive us to pick up our cameras to go and capture something. Members are expected to pursue their curiosities and to photograph throughout the duration of the course. Members will produce, share, and review their stories together.
