Description
This is one of the series of courses using an organ systems approach to the study of clinical science. Students study the epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinical presentation, diagnosis, and medical management of psychiatric conditions. This course also focuses on the geriatric population with an emphasis on the impact of aging on a patient's quality of life, limitations in mobility and communication, access to health care, therapeutic interventions, and issues related to death and dying. Content synthesis is accomplished by integrating clinical cases with basic science and active learning modalities.
