Description
This course is an elective designed to cover core clinical sciences beyond the general therapeutics modules on psychiatric topics. This course will be taught by clinical pharmacists practicing in each of the respective areas. In addition, PGY2 psychiatric pharmacy residents will be involved in this course. This course will expand on the pathophysiology, pharmacology, and therapeutics covered in the core clinical science courses. It will be expected that students enrolled in this course have already completed and passed these modules. This course will focus on psychiatry with the following disorders: anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress, bipolar, sleep disorders, agitation, delirium, substance use, and schizophrenia. The course will integrate active learning strategies, lectures, individual preparation, formative and summative evaluations.
