LLCFT 201 - Metalsmithing: Casting without Wax

Create one-of-a-kind shapes with molten silver that can be incorporated into your own jewelry designs with a no-wax casting technique. Learn to melt and pour silver into and over a variety of materials like water and gravel. When cooled, the silver yields gorgeous (and unpredictable!) organic elements which can be incorporated into wearable items of jewelry such as pendants and rings. Previous metalsmithing experience is suggested (such as LLCFT229 Beginning Metalsmithing) but no prior experience with casting is necessary. Special fee covers cost of materials, tool and facility use.
