Description
This course examines multicultural models of health, illness, and therapies for culturally and linguistically diverse populations (CLD) with communication disorders. Students will gain a deeper understanding of the clinical, scientific, sociocultural, psychological, and spiritual foundations of various assessment and treatment systems for CLD populations. Students will also learn about the history of health-related and communication practices in of CLD populations. In addition the course will expose the students to the impact that beliefs, culture, social, and ethic systems have on the treatment of communication disorders.
