Description
This course is the first semester of a two-semester sequence, designed to examine human movement as a distinguishing identifier of culture throughout history. By looking at select cultural dance forms in a non-hierarchical sequence, the course examines how dance and ritual have been used for political resistance, storytelling, historical investigation, and shaping and maintaining cultural identity in the past and present.
