Description
In-depth survey of organ pedagogy covering all periods and styles of organ literature. Pedagogical elements of terminology, manual technique, pedal technique, performance practice (including registration, fingering, and ornamentation), physical and mental performing strategies, student repertoire, and organ construction through topical surveys of method books and textbooks as well as specific pieces. Lectures by the instructor, in-class discussions, hands-on organ playing, individual class presentations, and examinations.
