Description
This course is a one semester course covering topics in geometry relevant for secondary school teachers. Emphasis will be placed on integrating algebraic and geometric ideas. Ideas from Euclidean geometry are developed in the context of analytic geometry with a focus on using technology. Topics covered are: axioms for high school geometry, straightedge and compass constructions, conic sections, geometric equation solving, geometry of complex numbers, and transformations via complex numbers. Prerequisite is completion of Math 1210 with a grade of C or better. Completion of Math 3100 is strongly preferred.
