GEOG 6520 - Economic Geography, Industrial Location, and Regional Development

Graduate students should enroll in GEOG 6520 and will be held to higher standards and/or more work. Globalizing has intensified cities and regions in competing for resources, while making places livable and sustainable. This course focuses on economic geography, industrial location and regional development theories, and includes economic geography perspectives, globalization, industrial location, regional development, and public policies. Students will learn recent developments in economic geography theories and empirics, critically evaluate the reading materials, and write research papers for publication. This course will use a combination of lecture, class discussion, assignments, and students presentations.
