Description
This course is designed to expose Emergency Medical Services majors to how drugs, medications and principles of pharmacology impact patient care. We will explore the history of drugs, medication research, development and marketing, drug administration, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, pharmacotherapeutics and pharmacoeconomics of common over-the counter and prescriptive medications, herbal preparations, dietary supplements and recreational drugs using a base-based approach.
