Description
This course will explore the tax and nontax issues involved in planning estates for individuals of different financial and personal circumstances. Although not primarily a tax course, students will receive a grounding in the basic tax concepts necessary to estate planning during the first part of the semester. Students also will have the opportunity to conduct client interviews and complete several planning/drafting projects during the semester. The final grade will be based upon a mid-term, the various drafting assignments, and class participation. There will be no final exam. PREREQUISITES: Trusts & Estates. RECOMMENDED: Basic Income Tax.
