Description
The Medical School Admissions Theory and Practice elective prepares 4th year medical students to become involved in the medical school admissions process and to be ready to potentially serve and lead an admissions office and other leadership positions in medical and business settings. They will also gain an understanding of the behavioral science behind the assessment of applicants. This knowledge may be used during the residency applicant process. Classroom as well as practical experience in sub-committee participation will be required as well as direct involvement in creating MMI scenarios and ethical situation questions that will be used in future admissions cycles. Classroom instruction will take place for one hour a day for one week. Participation in committees will take place from September through March. medical students cannot fulfill their sub-committee requirements when they are on their sub-internship experience.
