OSHER 236 - The Science Behind the Headlines

This class discusses how science really works and how the process differs from the legal system and journalism. We will discuss five major areas of current concern where some knowledge of the sciences is essential to understand what is going on: air pollution, water pollution, energy and alternative energies, climate change, and evolution.
