Description
This course provides materials in both didactic and lab preparation for the placement of dental implants in a student clinic. Dental schools are obligated to provide training necessary for students to be “competent” in the restoration of dental implants This course will provide instruction from each of the clinic surgeons; i.e. periodontists, oral surgeons and prosthodontists regarding the essential information pertaining to their individual process of implant placement. Upon completion of this course students will have testable knowledge in the placement of dental implants both from direct placement to preparation of sites with augmentation strategies. In addition they will learn about complications and treatment alternatives for successful oral rehabilitation.. The goal of this course is to provide to interested students information about the specific consideration for patients to become recipients of implants, and for the surgical placement of dental implants.
