BENN 2929 - 001 Community Immersion


This community engaged learning course is for students who have registered for any of the following Alternative Breaks experiences for Fall 2019: • Hungery and Food Justice – Seattle, WA • Identity & Environmental Exploration – San Rafael Swell, UT • Immigration – San Diego, CA • Urban Environmentalism – Portland, OR • Wildlife Habitat Conservation – Lakeview, MT. After making your down payment for the trip, please contact Justin Swanger, Alternative Breaks Coordinator, for an add permission code so you can register for the course through CIS. With the exception of the dates below, the course has no set meeting time. Students are expected to attend pre-trip meetings and other program requirements which will be scheduled by the student Site Leader and Staff/Faculty Partner and communicated to all trip participants. Mandatory dates of participation: • Alternative Fall Break: early morning Saturday, October 5, 2019 through late evening Saturday, October 12. • Fall Reorientation Event: Friday, November 1 from 4-6pm (location TBA) Tuition fees for the course are in addition to participation fees paid directly to the Bennion Center’s Alternative Breaks program.
