Description
Persuasion and Social Influence surveys theories and concepts related to persuasion and social influence from social and behavioral science approaches. Particular attention will be paid to understanding why and under what conditions individuals’ ideas, attitudes and behaviors are influenced by others. Readings will be drawn from a range of communication areas, including (but not excluding to) science, health, environmental, and risk communication. This course will not presuppose any prior background in quantitative research methods, but will introduce to empirical studies using quantitative research methods.
