Prerequisites: Graduate status in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Description
In this class we will discuss the device technology, fabrication, memory cell and readout circuit design for different types of solid-state memory devices. The course will discuss device technologies used for SRAM, DRAM, ROM, and NAND flash, and future technologies based on phase-change, MRAM, memristor and other exotic forms of non-volatile semiconductor memories. Prerequisites: Basic solid-state physics up to introductory MOS models and some introductory digital circuits background.
