Description
Wine has been produced in Rioja for about 3,000 years. It is clearly the country's most recognizable wine region by consumers around the world. Rioja is a province, one of Spain's 17 autonomous communities, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and a wine region. Tempranillo is the principal grape and it is the strict aging requirements that transform this and other grape varieties into award-winning wines. We will taste a white Viura and three reds of varying ages as we learn the history, geography and wine-making techniques of Rioja.
