Description
The Transition to Internship course for EPAC is designed to prepare students in the EPAC Cohort for their roles as pediatric interns and to ensure the successful transition from undergraduate medical education (medical school) to graduate medical education (internship and residency). The longitudinal curriculum has three units: 1) participation in intern orientation during the summer of the MS4 year; 2) attendance at the longitudinal Intern Lecture Series held each Friday morning during the summer an fall of the MS4 year; and 3) attendance at the pediatric intern retreat held each October for the MS4 year. The curriculum includes lectures, simulations, course work and outside readings. EPAC Cohort students will acquire the skills and knowledge that will enable them to perform effectively as pediatric interns.
