Description
Income Inequality has been a steadily growing problem in the United States, but the 2008 financial crisis escalated the issue into a full-blown crisis which has since been exacerbated by the 2019 pandemic. This class will discuss the scope of the problem, how the 2008 crisis crushed the middle and lower class, how our government failed to act, and how the current pandemic has reshaped that discussion. Students must purchase the book "Crashed: How a Decade of Financial Crises Changed the World" by Adam Tooze.
