Description
This course provides a comprehensive view of aspects of the physical environment and biological and genetic factors that affect a population’s health. The course covers the social, political and economic conditions which influence the release of contaminants into the environment, the chemical and physical processes governing the movement of contaminants through the environment, human exposure patterns, and the biological mechanisms leading to adverse health impacts. Emphasis will be placed on the ecological perspective and the connection among human health, animal health and ecosystem health.
