Description
As Camp "medical counselors," students will supervise congenital and acquired heart condition management and Camp activities for a group of 8-10 youth, including children with heart disease and their siblings, 4-18 years of age at Camp Hawkins, a Summer Camp for Children with Heart Disease, under the supervision of a "unit" physician and the Camp medical director (Dr. James Hoffman). Includes one week of pre-camp chart review, as well as one day pre=camp volunteer orientation in which the student will teach other non-medically trained volunteers about the signs and symptoms of dehydration and over-exertion. Scheduled times for Camp may be obtained from the Camp Hawkins website, www.camphawkins.org. Please download the application and submit to Dr. James Hoffman.
