Description
This course focuses on evidence-based applications of the recreational therapy (RT) process in providing services for individual clients and therapeutic groups. Students will advance their clinical skills by examining diverse assessment tools, and evaluating the merits of specific measurements for different situations and clients. Planning and implementation will be explored by translating current knowledge into structured treatment plans and program protocols. Evaluation and documentation initiatives will be analyzed by focusing on best practices for tracking individual client progress as well as overall program effectiveness. Throughout the semester, students will examine how the unique aspect of their work in RT contributes to integrated health systems and affords opportunities for collaboration with other health professionals.
