Description
This course provides a broad overview, critical discussion, and analysis of human development and learning theories as they pertain to adolescents? learning in secondary schools. It emphasizes major theories of human development and learning encompassing normal physical, cognitive, language, and social learning; the interrelations among these aspects of learning; and their implications for education practices. Students are encouraged to critically examine personal experiences, theories, and the empirical literature, and to consider best educational practices and interventions relative to their knowledge of development, culture, and context. Expect significant reading and writing assignments.
