Description
ME EN 5040/6040 is an elective course that studies quality management knowledge area topics such as: the quality system, quality management (QM), statistical planning, and the quality organization. In addition, process area topics such as: human resource planning, quality control, and reliability of products are fully explored. In general, the course provides an overview of the relevant quality management principles and practices as applied in contemporary organizations. The focus of the material covered is on topics that will lead into written assignments (case studies) and team presentations. A practical, in-class documentary series, based on the design of a successful commercial aircraft (the Boeing 777), will be presented during the term to reinforce concepts from the text and discussions in the classroom.
