Description
Caroline will take you on a Vespa tour of the 13 Egyptian obelisks in Rome, Italy. Second only to the pyramids are Egypt's obelisks: monumental, four-sided, tapering pillars made of solid granite stone. Unlike pyramids, Egyptian obelisks could be transported all over the world and set up in cities such as Rome, Paris, London, and New York. Learn how the Romans shipped these 300-ton needles to the eternal city 4,000 years ago and how over the centuries they embraced these pagan symbols.
