Description
A hands-on course in quantitative skills used for urban analysis. Data sources, data set development, descriptive statistics, correlation, trend analysis, modeling, and styles for graphical and written presentation will be explored. This course is divided into four modules where students will learn how to measure and communicate complex, interdependent relationships within social, environmental and economic systems. These modules include the observation of mobility systems, housing, commercial and industrial development, environmental systems, infrastructure, social space, urban resilience, public health and economic systems. This is the first of two required field studies courses for the Urban Ecology major.
