Description
This course provides Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) students with the essential knowledge and skills needed to complete a research project such as the Au.D. Capstone Project required for graduation. Assignments and activities will be applied to the student’s Au.D. Capstone Project where possible, otherwise the instructor will provide the student with simulated projects. Topics include: identifying and developing hypotheses, finding essential research literature, summarizing and critically evaluating research articles and other publications, understanding common study designs in hearing research, analyzing research data, visualizing and tabulating research data, interpreting study findings, and presenting research findings. Coverage of these topics is intended to support and complement (but not replace) mentoring efforts among the student and the faculty advisor supervising the research project.
