Description
Through the study of statutory and case law as well as historical and contemporary theories and debates about immigration, this course provides a review of immigration and asylum law and policy. Explores issues such as the meaning of membership in the "national community" and obligations of members to those deemed outsiders. Analyzes these issues through the examination of asylum law, types of entries by foreigners, deportation, exclusion, immigrant and non-immigrant status, employment law, and citizenship.
