Description
Students will learn how to identify and employ statistical concepts to answer important scientific questions in occupational health and safety. Statistical methods learned will be applicable to laboratory, interventional, and epidemiological study settings. Students will develop the ability to design, execute and interpret the results of statistical analyses common in occupational health and safety research. We will use practical occupational health case-based applications of biostatistical concepts including descriptive statistics, correlation, linear and logistic regression, analysis of variance, generalized estimating equations. Sampling, surveillance, repeated measures and longitudinal analytical methods will be introduced. We will also learn about tests for equivalence and sample size calculations.
