OSHER 407 - Utah Symphony Finishing Touches Preview: Stravinsky and Rachmaninoff

Flautist Sally Humphreys will present a half-hour preview of the music in the September 24 Finishing Touches Rehearsal of the Utah Symphony: Thierry Fischer Conducts Stravinsky's The Fairy's Kiss and Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini. Osher members will learn about the life and work of two master composers, Stravinsky and Rachmaninoff; become familiar with musical elements and themes to listen for in the music, and gain insight into the world of the professional symphony orchestra. Separate $15 tickets are required to attend the actual rehearsal, held the same day from 10:00am to 12:30pm, or the regular evening performances on Friday or Saturday.
