Description
This course introduces informatics students to fundamental principles about the business of our field. Throughout the semester, in a bi-monthly frequency, subject-matter experts will address the essential work responsibilities performed by Biomedical Informatics Business leaders from established national and local organizations. Entrepreneurs in the field will examine how they are tackling the most significant challenges in their companies. Example of topics presented in the seminar will be how healthcare leader select an EHR system, or the principal problems related to HIT security. Presenters will also cover issues related to EHR implementation and optimization strategies. The seminar also explores vital areas in Biomedical Informatics and Health IT including Leadership, Management, and Innovation.
